Brenda S. Wiggins
Brenda S. Wiggins has been a paralegal with the firm since 1990 and primarily handles matters involving estate, trust and guardianship administration. Brenda has worked with many of the Clerks of Court in eastern North Carolina in helping clients through the estate administration process by preparing the required qualification documents, inventories and accountings and maintaining the records from which the accountings are prepared. Her job also includes working with the Internal Revenue Service and the North Carolina Department of Revenue in filing federal and state estate tax returns.
Brenda was born in Columbus, Mississippi. She graduated cum laude from Mississippi University for Women, Columbus, Mississippi, with a B.S. in Business in 1973 and is a 1980 graduate of the Southern Banking Association Trust School held at Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. Before moving to Rocky Mount in 1986, Brenda worked at the law firms of Burgin, Gholson, Hicks and Nichols as a legal secretary/assistant, at Threadgill, Smith, Sanders and Jolly as paralegal to the senior partner and as Assistant Trust Officer at National Bank of Commerce.
