Tracy A. Smith
Tracy A. Smith joined Batts, Batts &: Bell as an associate in August of 2005. She works primarily in the areas of civil litigation, corporate law, and criminal defense. Her most recent cases include the following: helping to resolve or litigate identity thefts, sexual harassment claims, contract disputes, and trade secrets claims; defending claims arising from a catastrophic explosion resulting in several deaths and injuries; and defense of misdemeanors in Nash and Wake counties.
In addition to being active in the North Carolina Bar Association, Tracy is a member of the Women’s Network of Eastern North Carolina, Young Professionals Network of Rocky Mount, and First United Methodist Church.
Tracy was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In 1999, she graduated cum laude from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania with a B. S. in Computer Science. She worked for 3 years as a software engineer and then returned to school. She obtained her J.D. from the University of North Carolina in May of 2005 and joined Batts, Batts & Bell shortly thereafter. She is admitted to practice in North Carolina and in the Federal District Court of the Eastern District of North Carolina.
